Important PSAT Information

Important School Schedule information for the PSAT Test on Wednesday, October 11th
The​ ​PSAT​ ​(the​ ​practice​ ​SAT​ ​test)​ ​will​ ​be​ ​given​ ​on​ ​Wednesday,​ ​October​ ​11th.
● This is an optional​ ​test for 10th and 11th grade students.
○ 10th graders take the test for standardized test practice.
○ 11th graders take the test for practice and the potential to qualify for the National
Merit Scholarship program.
● The​ ​required​ ​test​ ​fee​ ​is​ ​$16
○ Payment will open Friday, September 8th, and has been extended until Thursday, Sept 21.

■ Exact cash or check can be given to Ms. Gilmore or Mrs. Morris in
Guidance.

○ No late payment will be accepted.
○ If you pay for a test and your student ends up not testing, you may be charged an
unused test fee (you would be contacted at a later date if this fee applied to you).
● PSAT Student Guides are available in Guidance once a student has paid to take the
test.
● Students who pay to test will complete demographics during JAG period on Wednesday,
October 4th. Please make every effort for your student to be present on demographics
day.
● Testers will need to report to school no later than 8:15 AM on test day.
● They will need to bring:
○ a picture ID (required)
○ pencils (cannot be mechanical pencils)
○ a calculator if they would like to use one
● Testing will be completed by noon, and students will be allowed to eat lunch in class.
The cafeteria will be serving sack lunches if they wish to purchase one.

Late​ ​Start​ ​on​ ​Wednesday,​ ​October​ ​11th​ ​for​ ​any​ ​students​ ​not​ ​taking​ ​the​ ​PSAT​ ​Test
● This applies to:
○ all 9th and 12th graders
○ any 10th or 11th graders who do not wish to take the test
● Classes will start at 12:00 noon
● Busses will run at usual times for an 8:15​ ​start​ ​day​ (NOT the typical Wednesday pick up
time).
○ Any non-testing student who rides the bus will be supervised in the competition
and PE gyms until their school day begins at noon.

● Lunch will be served.
