When should your student return to school during or after illness?

Due to the increase in the number of flu cases and other illnesses in our schools and community, we are asking parents to assist us with the appropriate time for your child to return school.

If your child has a fever of 100 degrees (orally) or more, your child should remain home for 24 hours after the fever has gone -- without the assistance of Tylenol, Advil, Motrin, etc.

If your child has vomiting or diarrhea, your student should stay home if he/she has vomited or has diarrhea within two hours prior to the start of school. They must have eaten 1 normal meal before returning to school.

If your student is diagnosed by your doctor as having strep throat, your child should stay home 24 hours after beginning antibiotic therapy.

If your student is diagnosed with the flu, please let the nurses in the health room know.

Our goal is to keep the entire school population as healthy as possible. Together, we can accomplish this goal.
