This will be my ninth year of teaching English. I feel so lucky to be able to teach at Spain Park!
Originally from Mobile, AL, I came to the Birmingham area to attend Birmingham-Southern College. After graduating from Birmingham-Southern with a degree in English, I decided to get my Master's in Secondary Education from UAB.
To say that I'm an eclectic person is an understatement. I always knew I would end up teaching, but somewhere along the way I've managed to help crew a 2-masted schooner in the Caribbean, spend a summer studying Shakespeare and architecture at St. John's College in Oxford, England, work in the Accounting Dept. at a local law firm, guide backpacking through Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons, serve as a guide/instructor for an outdoor company called Treeline Expeditions, and teach yoga at a local studio. My husband and I don't sit still very well!
My favorite authors include Sylvia Plath, J.R.R. Tolkien, Kurt Vonnegut, and Neil Gaiman.
As you get to know me you will see that I am always willing to help you - JUST ASK!
